Narrative Counselling

Narrative counselling is a powerful approach that can help individuals reframe their life experiences and create new, positive narratives. By exploring the stories we tell ourselves and others, we can begin to understand the patterns and beliefs that shape our lives. Narrative counselling can be especially helpful for those who feel stuck, as it encourages individuals to view their lives from a new perspective and make meaningful changes. At Sanctuary we believe in the transformative power of narrative counselling and work with our clients to create new, empowering stories that foster growth and healing.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma informed care is a critical approach in the counselling field to help those who have experienced trauma. By treating the whole person and understanding the impact trauma can have on an individual’s life, Sanctuary is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for our clients. Trauma informed care involves recognizing the signs of trauma and implementing evidence-based interventions (EMDR, Grounding Techniques, Mindfulness, Somatic Release, and Trauma Reprocessing) to promote healing and recovery. At Sanctuary, we prioritize trauma informed care and work to empower our clients to overcome their past experiences and move forward in a positive direction.

Somatic Psychotherapy

Somatic Psychotherapy is an innovative approach to therapy that focuses on the connection between the mind and body. By exploring the physical sensations and experiences of the body, individuals can gain insight into the emotions and thoughts that influence their overall well-being. Somatic Psychotherapy is especially effective for those who have experienced trauma or struggle with anxiety, depression, or chronic pain.  We use a variety of techniques, including breathwork, movement, and mindfulness practices, to help our clients achieve a greater sense of balance and inner peace.
